Experience

Whether you are a complete beginner, or a seasoned professional, vocal coaching can help you discover new aspects of your voice, and help you build a safe and healthy approach to singing and speaking.

I qualified as a teacher in 2011 and since then have been helping a wide variety of people find, and use their voice! With a background in primary and secondary education, I am skilled at helping my students build their confidence and achieve their goals.  Many of my students opt to take lessons as a way of building self esteem; I love supporting them on their journey of self discovery and showing them all the wonderful opportunities and experiences vocal confidence can bring.

Alongside my private studio work, I am also the Singing Teacher at St Clare's International School, Oxford, and St Gabriel's School Newbury. In addition to my school work, I have the privilege of educating a number of choristers at Exeter Cathedral, and regularly prepare students for voice trials and auditions.

My Teaching Style

Your voice is a precious, precious thing, which deserves to be honoured and respected, after all it's part of you! I firmly believe in student centred learning; I take my guidance from you, rather than impose a predetermined belief in what you 'should' sound like. My job is to help you get to where you want to go, whether that's building confidence, preparing for a successful audition, taking exams or preparing for performances.

My lessons are rooted in a scientific approach, educating students on the physiology of the voice, and introducing them to exercises which will help them access the various qualities needed for a range of styles. I have been hugely influenced by the work of Jo Estill, and am currently working towards becoming an Estill Master Trainer, under the expert guidance of Prof. Anne-Marie Speed, Head of Spoken Voice at the Royal Academy of Music.

You can find out more about my teaching style, values, and my journey to becoming an EMT in my Blogs

I love to teach all genres of singing; Classical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Folk, to name but a few. I teach from my home studio in Besselsleigh, Oxfordshire, and online.
